BerryScroll brings flick scrolling to your BlackBerry Storm!

Flick scrolling, one of the #1 requested features by the BlackBerry community has been answered by Bellshare GmbH by creating BerryScroll which allows you to scroll faster by a simple flick of your finger.

BerryScroll currently supports the BlackBerry browser, contacts, phone app (contacts and call log) and the media app (music and ringtones).

To use flick scrolling you will have to enable it by selecting “Enable BerryScroll” from the BlackBerry menu in one of the supported apps.

After BerryScroll has been activated, when you do a flick up/down gesture BerryScroll will switch into flick scrolling mode indicated by a little icon in the top right corner. After a configurable timeout, by pressing any key or by clicking/tapping the screen you can exit flick mode so you can select or click links again.

NOTE: Due to a limitation of the BlackBerry OS you have to re-enable BerryScroll after you exit and relaunch one of the applications. A workaround is to exit the apps by pressing the red phone end key to exit out of an application.

Features:
* Flick scrolling in browser
* Flick scrolling in contacts
* Flick scrolling in phone (call log and contacts)
* Flick scrolling in media app (music and ringtones)

BlackBerry Tour, Bold, Storm and Curve 8900 speaker test

This video isn’t the most definitive comparison of the speakers on the most recent BlackBerry devices, but it does give you an idea of the subtle differences between them.

The Bold seems to have the best sound, while the 8900 seemed the loudest. The Storm seemed to be very treble-intensive, but it is a YouTube video which tends to distort sound considerably.

The Tour’s speakers gave the music a deeper, more bass-heavy sound, comparable to that of the Bold. Overall, I would give the Bold the best rating, with the Tour a close second. After that the 8900 and then the Storm.

What do you think?

Web-based search and access application for BlackBerry

myCopernic is a web-based application that lets you search and access data stored on your PC.

Once you’ve registered your account, and downloaded the Copernic Connector to your PC, you can access your files OTA from your BlackBerry. Over the web, you get access to documents, emails, email attachments, pictures, music, movies, contacts, etc.

This application, with competitors such as Cortado, is most likely aiming at a Power User and consumer market. If you’d like to see how it holds up for enterprise, you can download a professional version which gives you access to calendar items.

You can purchase myCopernic On the Go for $9.99 per year.
