Leaked OS 5.0.0.536 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700

Reports of the OS so far are really good. We’re hearing comments like:

  • They have fixed the caller ID issue.
  • No lock icon unless you have a password.
  • Noticed the lock function is different, no more lock icon on the bottom right and when you press it it fades out the screen.
  • No East Asian character support.
  • Internet seems a lot faster.

BlackBerry Storm OS Leaks: 4.7.0.173 for 9500 and 4.7.0.167 for 9530

BlackBerry Storm Leaked OS Updates

Have a BlackBerry Storm 9500 or 9530 and want to update your OS beyond what is currently available?  Well, you are in luck.  OS 4.7.0.173 for the BlackBerry Storm 9500 and OS 4.7.0.167 for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 have been leaked and can be found online at via the links below.

We know that there are OS 5 leaks that have come out for both devices, however, they both definitely have some quirks that still need to be worked out.   We haven’t installed 4.7.0.167 on our BlackBerry Storm 9530, so, we cannot personally vouch for this leak, but we can say that we haven’t heard anything negative about it.

Have You Installed BlackBerry Messenger 5?

BlackBerry Messenger 5 (Leaked)

As you may already know, BlackBerry Messenger 5 was leaked the other day and has been getting a lot of good reviews even though it is not officially available yet.  My initial plan was not to install it and just wait for it to be actually be released, which we hear could be any day now.  I say that was my initial plan because, after being asked about 500 bagillion times what I thought about it, I decided to go a head and install BBM 5 so that I could give it the once over.  I’ve got to say that I am pretty impressed.

I want to reiterate that BlackBerry Messenger 5 has not been officially released so you download at your own risk if you decided to install it.  If however, you are the adventurous type, you can find a bunch of OTA links after the jump…
