How to update OS System ?

I have searched hi and lo on this but am still struggling so bare with me please !

I recently downloaded HTC Tru Blu theme to my new Bold 9000. Whilst it showed up in the applications list, it does not show up in themes. I contacted the creator and he informed me i was running the wrong OS and needed to upgrade to 5.0.

Now i have upgraded my BlackBerry Desktop Manager Software to the latest 5.0 and everything seemed to go perfectly but my device info is still saying platform is 4.0.0.223 and App Version is 4.6.0.266 (451). Shouldnt they have updated or shouldn’t I be able to use Desktop Manager to update the OS?

I have seen the thread about deleting .vendor file etc and i did find what i think were those file on my D drive but I am still not "getting" hot to update the OS on the device. When I go to DMS and click APPLICATION LOADER and UPDATE SOFTWAREis says no update is required ?

Maybe I am running the latest OS on my device but then why cannot i see the tru blu theme ?

Does The Lack Of OpenGL Support Make You Want To Hold Off On The BlackBerry 9700?

The hottest device coming out of Research in Motion right now is the BlackBerry Bold 9700.  The hottest news coming out of Research in Motion is OpenGL (3D graphics) support.  The BlackBerry Bold 970o, unfortunately, doesn’t support OpenGL.

The question to you is does the Bold 9700 still sound just as hot?

Currently, only the BlackBerry Storm2 and the BlackBerry Curve 8530 support OpenGL ES.  RIM has stated that new CDMA BlackBerry devices with Qualcomm chipsets going forward will support OpenGL as well.  I am sure that GSM devices will eventually get it, but, how long will they have to wait?

At least for a short time, there will clearly be a case of the haves and the have nots when it comes to application support.
