Foursquare for BlackBerry Beta Updated To Version 1.7

Foursquare for BlackBerry

Just a few days ago a tweet went out stating that all three clients for Foursquare would be getting an update before SXSW.  Well, it looks like Foursquare for BlackBerry has been updated to version 1.7.

BlackBerry Storm and Storm2 users may want to hold off for a bit…  Lots of reports, myself included, that there are API issues on Touchscreen BlackBerry devices.

Foursquare for BlackBerry 1.7 is now working for me after re-downloading again this morning.  I am, however, still hearing, that some BlackBerry Storm and Storm2 users are having issues.

Is This What A BlackBerry Super App Is Supposed To Look Like?

BlackBerry OS 6 Prototype

Some very interesting images emerged from yesterday’s BlackBerry Super App Webcast that we told you about a few days ago.  I am not quite sure what this application is, or, even if it is something that RIM is working on, but, it appears to be a some type of today page on steroids.

From one screen shot, we certainly can’t determine if this is a good BlackBerry application or not, however, it looks awfully nice.  I certainly hope that we, not only start to see really nice looking BlackBerry applications come out of RIM, but, the tools necessary for third party developers to create such applications without having to spend more time designing the GUI than it takes to code the functionality, come out as well.

Holding a webinar to show developers the possibilities of BlackBerry Super Apps is great.  RIM just needs to make sure that the tools necessary to create BlackBerry Super Apps are made available to them.

MyBlackBerry, The BlackBerry Social Network From RIM, Has Launched

MyBlackBerry

Somehow I managed to miss that MyBlackBerry, the official BlackBerry community social network, launched yesterday for all.

I’ve just created my account and logged in for the first time.   Haven’t had the chance to check everything out yet, but, the profile seems kind of rigid.  Don’t seem to be able to determine what my display name will be.  I will put MyBlackBerry through the paces when I get some time and put a proper review up in a few days.
