Giveaway: Copy2Contact updates with SMS and calendar support

YouTube link for mobile viewing

Copy2Contact is a simple way to take contact information from emails and store them in your BlackBerry Address Book. In the latest version of the app, you can grab contact and calendar information from SMS, web and search results, and add them directly to your BlackBerry address book and/or calendar. The app will even update existing contacts if a match is found.

The most recent version of Copy2Contact features text recognition that grabs information as a stand-alone client, so you don’t need a wireless signal to grab contacts. Also, since the text recognition can grab info from any source, it can be used in mobile search and directory services like GOOG-411.

Copy2Contact is available on a yearly subscription for $9.95 in the BlackBerry Cool store.

Copy2Contact is also available for $9.99 in App World.

Gwabbit for BlackBerry

According to BerryReview, the developers of Gwabbit, the application that allows you to automatically extract contact information out emails and create a contacts on your BlackBerry, is coming out with a free version next Tuesday, Dec. 8th.  Gwabbit currently cost $9.99 per year, however, the subscription model has turned off more than just a few would be customers.

They are planning on announcing the new free version of Gwabbit which will annoyingly be released exclusively on App World. The free version includes a new alerting feature that lets contacts know by email when their information has been added to your address book. I just hope it offers you the option to turn that feature off.

If you would like to try the premium version of Gwabbit for BlackBerry out before the free version is released, we have a free trial in the RIMarkable App Store.

RIM developing an Enhanced Gmail Plugin for BlackBerry

blackberry_gmail

To date, the Gmail experience on BlackBerry hasn’t met the standards that most users expect. According to a few screenshots leaked on BlackBerryForum(de), RIM is going to be improving the experience with an upcoming Enhanced Gmail Plugin. As you can see above, it includes:

* See your Gmail based emails in Conversation View for simple topic management
* Add and remove labels and stars to emails to keep inbox organized
* Archive and report as spam actions for mailbox management on the go
* Search your entire Gmail inbox

You’ll need BIS 2.7 for the plugin, and feel free to try and get in the beta program. If you do get in the beta program, let us know what you think.
