Tumblr has released their official BlackBerry app which is now available for download.  If you aren’t  familiar with Tubmlr it is essentially a microblogging platform…

Tumblr lets you effortlessly share anything. Post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos, from your browser, phone, desktop, email, or wherever you happen to be. You can customize everything, from colors, to your theme’s HTML

I’ve just installed the Tumblr BlackBerry app, but, from what i can tell, it seems to be as full featured as the Tumblr iPhone app.  Kind of makes sense seeing how the same folks developed it.

Sprint Launching the BlackBerry Curve 8530 in Red

Sprint may to be launching the BlackBerry Curve 8530 in Red. Currently, Sprint carries the device in black and violet, and red would make the 8530 the most colorful modern BlackBerry. I’m pretty sure Sprint launched the BlackBerry Curve 8330 in a variety of colors including red, and they probably had a lot of success with the color in the past. What about a neon yellow 8530?

Storm Picture Editing and Drawing App Radical Draw With 10 Free Copies

Radical Draw is an app built specifically for the BlackBerry Storm that lets you customize and edit your pictures on the go. The app can be used to draw on pictures, or create your own, using the clip art, lines, shapes, colors and text provided. The company is also offering custom clip art, and contacting the developer will get you a quote.

The developer also plans to release a free upgrade in the near future, with additional clip art and crop capabilities and MMS support. Also, tilting the Storm to portrait is not currently supported but is on the way.

Radical Draw is a little on the pricey side at $7.99, but we have 10 copies to give away and if you’re a lucky winner, you should come back and tell everyone what you think of the app.

Note: Radical Draw requires at least OS 5.0.0.320.

UberTwitter Beta 6 Officially Avaialable For Download

UberTwitter Beta 6 Pre-Release

A pre-release version of UberTwitter Beta 6 has been officially released and is now available for download.

Some of you may have already heard about the leaked pre-release of UberTwitter Beta 6 that hit the web yesterday.  Well, here is what UberTwitter has to say about that…

We have been working very hard to provide you with a ‘knock-out’ release for Beta-6. Unfortunately, the first pre-release of this version was shared widely beyond our group of testers, and to compound this, they didn’t properly post the correct BlackBerry OS builds. We recognize that many of our users unfortunately downloaded this version, most with the wrong OS build. In order to rectify this problem, we are putting the first pre-release out there for anyone that wants to download it and give it a try. We have builds for 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, and 5.0. Please understand that this is not a finished product, the UI, colors, and some inner workings are not complete, but do work. The final release is still a few weeks away, but I hope that you agree that it will be well worth the wait!

Personally, I think that this is great PR move by UberTwitter.
