Desktop Manager or wireless reconcile/sync ?

Hi,

This query is from a complete novice so please handle with care :?

We have lots of different Blackberry models and have a BES Server of our own, version 3.9(?)

I need some clarification please. I have been told by a Blackberry Certified techie that if we are using our own BES Server with wireless reconciliation then we should not be using Desktop Manager as well for syncing as it will cause problems ?
Does wireless reconciliation deal with email, calendar AND Contacts ?
Is there only certain versions of BES and Desktop Manager that will deal with this ? If wireless reconciliation/sync deals with all this then do I need Desktop Manager at all ?
We have a user with an 8800, they have Desktop Manger 4.7 installed on their XP laptop and they are reguarly getting problems with synching the calendar. Getting errors and then the calendar has duplicate entries of the same meeting etc

Any help would be much appreciated.

BlackBerry Curve 8530 and more to support OpenGL

The BlackBerry Curve 8530, which has been announced from Sprint, will come with OpenGL support. This is going to be huge for the device as it will bring some really slick applications which compelling UIs and 3D graphics.

The news comes as we recently got clarification from RIM that CDMA devices with OS 5 and the latest Qualcomm chipsets, will all ship with OpenGL support.

So not only will you be able to get the 8530 in Black, Royal Purple and Red, but it looks like you will also be able to get some awesome games like Super Monkey Ball (not confirmed).
