BlackBerry With Camera On The Front For Video Conferencing Due Out In Early 2010?

Post image for BlackBerry With Camera On The Front For Video Conferencing Due Out In Early 2010?

According to TinyComb’s Jason Wilk, a Research in Motion Executive, that Fortune Brainstorm even in Pasadena, CA last week, confirmed that a device with a front facing video camera for video conferencing will be added to the BlackBerry line-up of devices early next year.

I asked him what RIM planned to do if the iPhone were to have upgraded their hardware to include a front-facing camera. His response was “as I said before, we are fortunate to have our relationships with many different carriers, some of which can handle something like live video-conferencing”. In other words, he and his team weren’t worried about the iPhone launching front-facing video-chat so long as they are with AT&T. The last thing he said to me was “video conferencing is something that could completely change the mobile landscape and it is something we have been thinking about and working on for quite some time. You will start seeing something early next year”.

Post image for Free BlackBerry App: Start Me Up – Automatically Start BlackBerry Applications Up After Rebooting Your Device

We’ve got a neat little free BlackBerry application for you in the RIMarkable BlackBerry Store for you called Start Me Up.  It automatically starts applications for you after rebooting your device.

After doing a restart (battery pull or soft reset), not all applications you want running automatically start up again and have to be run manually by finding and clicking their icon.  Start Me Up will let you select which applications you want to start automatically that don’t do it on their own.

Start Me Up Features Include:

  • Automatic start up for apps that dont include this feature
  • Runs applications in background while launching
  • Small size and does not run in background constantly

Start Me Up is a free BlackBerry download and you can pick it up in the RIMarkable BlackBerry Store at the following link.
